Software Engineer (API/REST)

Qintel is looking for a software engineer to join our growing software development team. Working on both internal and client facing applications, you will be building tools to help fight the ever-growing problem of cyber-crime and helping to make a difference in the world!

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with clients and our internal staff to analyze problems and come up with creative solutions in our customer facing web APIs.
  • Work to extend feature sets in current applications, assisting in the design and development of new applications.
  • Be able to clearly and effectively document areas of primary responsibility.

What You'll Need

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience using Python
  • 2+ years’ experience building RESTful (or similar) APIs
  • 2+ years’ experience on Unix related systems (debian, etc.)
  • Experience with MySQL, Postgres, ElasticSearch, or other related datastores
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • A passion to learn and thrive in a dynamic, constantly changing environment and building great customer experiences
  • Must take initiative and is a go getter!

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in software engineering related field
  • Familiarity with containers and container orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI, JSON and building client-side software development kits
  • Familiarity with Single Page Applications
  • Familiarity with Pyramid, Flask or Django
  • Familiarity with Serverless Frameworks (eg: AWS Lambda)
  • AWS, Azure, or other cloud related experience.

Required Soft Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and exchange information including ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals with varied levels of understanding and authority within customer institutions. Ability to clearly and effectively document the areas of primary responsibility. A high level of accuracy, dependability, and responsibility is essential.
